Malaysia gets locally-assembled 2022 Kia Carnival in 7 & 8-seater variants

KUALA LUMPUR: The sole distributor of Kia cars in Malaysia, Dinamika Jaya Motors Sdn Bhd has officially launched the new locally-assembled Kia Carnival in 7 and 8-seater options. The 11-seater Carnival will continue as CBU for now. While we’ll discuss the latter in detail in a separate article, our concentration here is on the new CKD unit and what all it brings along.

Many don't know, but with this, the Carnival becomes the first locally assembled model by the brand. Under the supervision of the new distributor, the model is built at the Inokon Assembly facility at Kulim, Kedah.

2022 Kia Carnival CKD - Price & Variants

The locally-assembled Carnival is offered in three variant options, all of which along with their prices are mentioned in the table below.

The 11-seater fully-imported model, on the other hand, retails for RM 196,340. Also, part of every purchase is a 5-years manufacturer warranty and 5-Years Free Scheduled Maintenance.

2022 Kia Carnival CKD - Powertrain

Powering the all-new Carnival CKD unit (and also the CBU) is a 2.2-litre turbo diesel unit generating maximum power of 199 hp along with a peak torque of 440 Nm. The drive is sent to wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission.

The locally-assembled Carnival showcases several new inclusions along with many standard inclusions across the range. For instance -
