Malaysia now has 26 new EV chargers, thanks to Starbucks

KUALA LUMPUR: Yes, Malaysia now has 26 new EV chargers, however, this time it is not an automobile company but a coffee shop chain responsible for the installation of the charging stations.

The well-known global retail coffee chain in Malaysia has opened a total of 26 EV charging stations, located at 17 of its outlets.

The officiation of the EV chargers by Starbucks took place at Starbucks Eco Grandeur where the company put up a 60 kW DC fast charger. However, the 26 EV charging stations by the retailer consist of both AC and DC fast chargers and are free for use until 31st October 2022.

“Charging your car should be as seamless as ordering a cup of coffee, and now it can be. Starbucks EV charging station promotion

• The Starbucks chargers are part of a 400-point charging network provided by chargEV on the chargeEV app
• Customers with a chargEV membership charging their EVs at one of Starbucks stores will enjoy up to 50 percent discount on their first Grande Handcrafted Beverage purchase in a single receipt.
• All one has to do is flash their chargEV membership ID at the counter
• Beginning from November 1st, 2022, the said promotion is valid for 12 months and is subject to terms and conditions
