Mark your calendars for March 30 for Genesis G80 debut

KUALA LUMPUR: The second-generation 2021 Genesis G80 was revealed in some appealing photos at the beginning of March. Earlier, Genesis G80 was supposed to be launched at the Geneva Motor Show which got cancelled owing to Coronavirus outbreak, hence, now the Korean automaker has decided to launch it via a worldwide digital premiere on March 30. Genesis G80 looks promising as it is set to enter the midsize luxury sedan segment. It follows the footprints and design direction of GV80. It looks like the redesigned sedan has adopted certain looks from its predecessor. What is known as athletic elegance for Genesis cars, is all seen on the G80.

Genesis G80 is set to replace the first-generation G80 that was launched in the year 2016. The 2016 G80 is the reconstructed version of the second-generation Hyundai Genesis.

Genesis released a teaser video for the new G80 on Hyundai’s Group official Facebook page. The footage depicted the beautiful headlight configuration that is enhancing the beauty of Genesis G80 and it was captioned as "the all-new scintillating Genesis G80 will debut at the Digital World Premiere on 2020.03.30 at 12:00”. So finally, the wait is over and after eight days the world will get to see the next-generation G80.

Talking about the exterior aesthetics of the car, the front fascia dons a signature grille mated with two-tier headlamps, which are also replicated for the taillights. Side gills enhance the visual appearance of the car which combined with neat and smooth creases bring out the best of G80. Prominent lighting ambience created gives an overall sophisticated appeal to the car, making it more collectable. G80 rides on huge 20-inch wheels and has a strikingly similar fastback profile.

Inside pictures of the car give you a glimpse of “Beauty of White Space” cabin sporting a minimalistic look, with detailed considerations given to air vents that split into the upper and lower sections of the uniquely contoured dashboard. The dashboard dons a large, 14.5-inch digital infotainment system at the center and a dual-tone steering wheel. Central stack also sports the climate controls mechanism.

We also anticipate the G80 to feature new platforms powertrains and driver-assist systems in place. This new midsize luxury sedan will give en edge-cutting competition to other luxury sedans like Mercedes-Benz E-class, BMW 5, and Audi A6.

Let us put our excitement to rest until the model debuts in a few days and we get to see the revamped version from Genesis.
