MINI NEXT relaunched in Malaysia: Certified used MINIs with 360-degree checks and trade-in offers

KUALA LUMPUR: MINI Malaysia has relaunched MINI NEXT, its certified pre-owned programme for used MINIs, with vehicle inspections, verified histories and refurbishment where needed.

The range also includes pre-owned electric MINIs, while selected younger cars retain their remaining service and roadside assistance benefits.

Announced in November 2026 , the relaunch puts the spotlight back on the programme and its trade-in options. MINI Malaysia has not listed specific cars, prices or trade-in incentives in the announcement, so buyers will need to check available stock and offers with authorised dealerships.

What does MINI NEXT certification cover?

Buying a used car usually comes with a familiar set of questions: is the mileage genuine, has it been maintained properly, and what needs fixing? MINI NEXT aims to address those concerns through checks on the car itself and its records before certification.

Each vehicle undergoes a 360-degree inspection covering the interior, exterior, mechanical components and safety systems. The process also includes a test drive and final inspection, with refurbishment carried out where required to meet MINI’s certification standards.

The checks are supported by verified service and vehicle histories, giving buyers information about the car’s mileage, maintenance background and vehicle records. For someone comparing used MINIs, these are useful details to have alongside the asking price and equipment list.

Remaining service benefits on selected cars

Selected younger MINI NEXT vehicles may still have coverage under MINI Service & Repair Inclusive and MINI Roadside Assistance. Where applicable, buyers can continue to use the remaining benefits.

The distinction here is “remaining”. The announcement does not promise a fresh service package or a new period of roadside assistance for every certified car. Buyers should confirm which benefits are attached to their chosen vehicle and how much coverage is left.

Trade-ins and used electric MINIs included

The programme offers trade-in support for cars from other brands as well as MINIs, allowing buyers to put their current vehicle towards a certified pre-owned model. Specific valuations and offers will need to be discussed with the dealership.

Pre-owned MINI battery electric vehicles are also part of the MINI NEXT range. These go through the programme’s certification process too, although MINI Malaysia has not listed the electric models currently available.

The appeal of MINI NEXT comes down to having more information about a used car before buying it, backed by an inspection and refurbishment process. Whether a particular example represents good value will still depend on its price, condition and the benefits it has left.
