Renault Fluence facelift launched in Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur: As you probably know by now, spotted on the road yesterday and being teased on the web throughout last week, Renault Fluence has finally made its finally anticipated launch in Malaysia today. Although it has been less than an year since this C segment-sedan was introduced in the local markets, the rumors about a potential facelift loomed right from the beginning.

The current upgrade mostly feels cosmetic, which brings this Megane-oriented drive closer to Renault's more recent line-up in terms of appearance. The bumper up front, stands out to imitate Clio and Koleos, and brings out the brand's current designing cue. The rest of the drive seems unaltered in terms of design, except for a new rim design and availablity of LED tail lamps on top-end Dynamique variant.

As such, Renault Malaysia has divided Fluence range into two parts – First is the facelifted Dynamique and the Expression which is a more affordable drive which slightly less equipment set. Pricing remains RM 108888 for Fluence Expression and RM 119888 for Fluence Dynamique. In the cabin, Expression comes packing fabric upholstery while Dynamique gets hold of a full leather seat set.

Other than that, both the variants share Fluence's impressive equipment set which includes 6 dedicated airbags, ISOFIX mounts, TomTom Navigation Link, Electronic Stability Control, R-Link Touchscreen interface with reverse camera, auto lights with wipers, 2-zone automatic air conditioning, cruise control and keyless entry all as a standard feature.

Under the hood, nothing has changed as such. Fluence embeds the same Nissan Sylphy's 2.0-litre engine with 143 hp power output at 6000 rpm alongside a maximum torque of 195 Nm at 3700 rpm which is coupled with X-Tronic CVT transmission. 0-100 kmph speed can be achieved in mere 10.1 seconds with a top speed count of 195 kmph.
