Subaru WRX STI EJ20 Final Edition to be unveiled at Tokyo Motor Show

KUALA LUMPUR: Just one month ahead of the Tokyo Motor Show, Subaru has created a curiosity among the folks by announcing the arrival of the WRX STI ‘EJ20’ Final Edition. The carmaker has announced that the new sedan will be unveiled at the Big Site facility in Tokyo Bay on October 23.

Subaru has also revealed that only 555 units of this Final edition WRX STI will be made. However, the owners will be decided by organising an in-house lottery after the interested ones submit their names to the manufacturer.

The current generation Subaru WRX STI has completed its six years life span. Despite being one of the most popular sedans worldwide, the chassis is ageing and has to be replaced due to the rising competition. The chassis is based on the previous-generation Impreza, which was first arrived in 2011.

The fans of the WRX STI need not to be worried as with the final edition, the manufacturer is just dropping the EJ-series engine, which was serving since 1989. However, there is a chance that the company will launch the next-generation WRX STI with a brand new engine in the near future.

The Japanese automaker, Subaru has not spoiled the party by revealing the features of the car before its debut. It only disclosed about its arrival. However, there are some serious speculations about its features. As per the expectations, the new sedan will get a perfectly balanced engine that will deliver improved performance. The car will feature bespoke Recaro seats along with the gold-plated 19-inch BBS alloy wheels.

According to the manufacturer, Subaru WRX STI ‘EJ20’ Final Edition will only be available in the Japanese market that means Malaysian people will not have a chance to drive the coaster in their own country.
