Toyota 86 British Racing Green Limited edition launched in Japan
KUALA LUMPUR: Toyota has made the 86 sports car a little bit more interesting for prospective buyers. The Japanese automaker has brought a new British Racing Green edition for a limited run, albeit only for the Japanese market.
This limited edition Toyota 86 isn’t just about the British Racing Green splash, but also gets a lot of new aesthetic elements. For example, the limited edition 86 rides on cast aluminium wheels finished in bronze. This new addition complements the green tone perfectly, besides housing the four-piston front and two-piston rear disc brakes from Brembo. Also, included in the list is a black boot-mounted spoiler with green winglets and aero underbody covers. There are also the Sachs dampers that come as a standard fitment in this limited edition Toyota 86. Also, according to recent reports, Toyota will slot the all-new 86 under Supra.
The cabin looks blissful as it gets a two-tone upholstery in black and dark tan along with Alcantara leather. Also, to add a fair bit of contrast within the cabin, the stitching is done in tan or black color. This contrast stitching is seen on the steering wheel, parking brake lever, shift boot, inside door trims, and on the knee pad. However, there is one thing that the buyers might not like. Though the complete black theme on the dashboard looks amazing, Toyota has removed the main infotainment display from the stack and just added a cover in its place.
Mechanically, the Toyota 86, with limited edition British Racing Green color, continues to be powered by the same naturally-aspirated, 2.0-litre flat 4-cylinder engine that can churn out 207 PS of maximum power and is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. However, if you are looking for the optional 6-speed automatic variant, the power would decrease to 200 PS only.
The limited edition model costs 3,251,880 Japanese Yen (roughly RM 119,476).
