Volkswagen Beetle Bug announced

Remember a few weeks back we showed you the first glimpse of Volkswagen Beetle Bug Edition? Today the German auto marque has officially announced 200 units' availability in Malaysia for this Beetle. Taking its design cues from Beetle 1.2 TSI Sport, Volkswagen Beetle Bug is made available at RM 146,888 nett. This means that the drive is listed at RM 8000 more than the traditional edition, but it is important to note that Bug includes a recently introduced Luxury pack – contents include Bi-Xenon headlamps with LED daytime running lights complimented with Vienna leather which in itself costs RM 6000 so essentially all the add ons with Bug edition do not cost you a single penny.

Now the question is, what are these add-ons? On the designing aspect they include double stripes on the bonnet, roof gate and tailgate, alongside thinner stripes on the flanks, all of this complimented with a huge “Bug” insignia. Also, there is a little “Bug” insignia at the rear, also there is the availability of “bug” aluminum side sill. The basic interior/exterior apparels with Xenon headlamps and leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic air conditioning, cruise control, RCD 510 touch-screen radio/CD player, heated front sports seats and 16-inch “Whirl” alloy wheels. Under hood there seem to be no significant changes which includes a 1.2-litre turbo TSI four cylinder engine with 105 PS power output with 175 Nm maximum torque. Volkswagen Beetle Bug Edition is made available with Tornado Red, Graciosa Brown, Saturn Yellow, Pure White and Deep Black.
