VPCM launches the new Arteon R-Line 4MOTION with IQ. Drive system

KUALA LUMPUR: After updating the Golf GTI back in March, Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia has now introduced the refreshed version of the Arteon R-Line 4MOTION. Just like the hot hatch, the four-door fastback model also benefits from the brand’s advanced driver-assistance technology called the Volkswagen IQ. Drive.

The newly-added IQ.DRIVE pack features advanced systems like Front Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control, Side Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Lane Assist, promising a more comfortable and safer journey to the occupants. 

Inside the refreshed Arteon R-Line, you also get a wireless charger, a new steering wheel, and R-Line silver trims. Taking the centre position on the dashboard is the 9.2-inch Discover Pro infotainment system mated to wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. This is complemented by an 11.7-inch Digital Cockpit offering innovative, intuitive, and customisable features. 

Also part of the kit is a premium Harman Kardon 700-watt audio system paired with 12 perfectly placed speakers.

Under the hood of the German sedan lies the same 2.0-litre TSI turbocharged mill that kicks out a maximum power of 280 PS and a peak torque of 350 Nm. The engine is paired with a 7-speed wet clutch DSG direct shift gearbox, 4MOTION all-wheel drive system, and Dynamic Chassis Control system. The latter offers 15 selectable increments and five different driving modes – Eco, Comfort, Normal, Sport, and Individual. 

In terms of performance, the sedan runs from zero to 100 kmph in just 5.6 seconds. The fuel efficiency is rated at 7.4 litres per 100 km.

The refreshed Volkswagen Arteon R-Line 4MOTION is priced at RM 299,990 (on the road, without insurance). Included in the price are a 5-year unlimited mileage warranty, 3-year free maintenance, and 5-year roadside assistance.

The Volkswagen Arteon R-Line 4MOTION colour palette has three metallic colours - Manganese Grey, Lapiz Blue, and Pyrite Silver; and two pearl-effect choices - Deep Black and Oryx White.
