The Evolution of Range Rover Evoque

The Evolution of Range Rover Evoque

The Range Rover Evoque is a compact luxury crossover SUV manufactured by British Automaker - Land Rover, which is a brand of Tata's Jaguar Land Rover Group.

Designed to appeal urban buyers and meet requirements for lower CO2 emissions and fuel economy, the Range Rover Evoque made its world debut at the 2010 Paris Auto Show and has been produced since 2011 in 3-door coupe and 5-door versions with both two wheel and four wheel drive. The production vehicle was similar to the Land Rover LRX Concept, which was unveiled at North American International Auto Show in January 2008.

Evoque was received positively by the automotive press for retaining the features, amenities and off-road capabilities of a traditional Range Rover in a smaller package.

Prior to going on sale in September 2011, Land Rover had 18,000 pre-orders for the Evoque. The automaker sold  88,000 units of Evoque in its first year of production and released many upgraded versions of Evoque during its 5 years of existence in the market, but the major upgrade came in the year 2014. So we can classify the evolution of Land Rover Range Rover Evoque in two generations: The first generation (2011-2013) and the second generation (2014-Present).

Here are some major highlights of both generations of Range Rover Evoque.

Since its world debut, the Range Rover Evoque has won many national and international awards including 2010 Best Production Car by Car Design News, 2011 Car of the Year by Top Gear, 2011 Auto Express Car of the Year and many others in the following years.
