2018 Suzuki Celerio facelift revealed
KUALA LUMPUR: After revealing the 2018 version of Celerio for the Indian market, Suzuki has finally released the facelift for the global market. With this mid-cycle update, the Celerio has received a slightly refreshed exterior with refined safety features. The changes made to the front include a new sporty mesh grille finished with chrome, lower air intake, restyled bumper and fog lights inserts. The changes at the rear are restricted to a new garnish and restyled bumper.
Although the exterior lacks major changes, it is the cabin that might excite the users. With the 2018 update, the Celerio gets a premium feel with a dual-tone finish, silver accents and new fabric on the seats. In terms of equipment, there are no new additions.
Powering the 2018 Celerio is the same 1.0-litre K10B three-cylinder engine that has the potential to deliver a maximum power output of 67 PS at 6000 rpm and peak torque of 90 Nm at 3500 rpm. The engine is further mated to either a five-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission.
The list of standard safety feature has been updated which include anti-lock brakes, airbags, seatbelt reminder, side impact, front and side beams across all the variants.
At the moment, the manufacturer has not hinted towards its launch in the local market but, we expect it to hit the dealerships by end of Q2 2018. Let’s see how the updated Celerio performs in the budget-friendly segment.
