2019 Suzuki Jimny details leaked
KUALA LUMPUR: Suzuki’s next generation Jimny will be unveiled to the public on July 5, 2018. The Suzuki Jimny now in its fourth generation and is a cousin of the Indian Gypsy. The sturdy compact off-roader has been used by the forces all over the world. Interestingly, before its global unveil, a couple of images of the Suzuki Jimny have surfaced online. The last Jimny or the one which will bow out soon has been in the showroom for ages - 20 years to be precise. Going by the look of the all-new Jimny, there is a certain newness in the way it looks.
Suzuki has chosen a retro look for their beloved off-roader. The round headlights, the straight grillE, as well as the elevated height all point towards a minimalistic design language. Suzuki, it seems, wants to maintain the connect with the older car and hence has used this theme. Keep in time with modern times, the company has added LED projector lights, DRLs, and tail lamps. This olive green shade that it was spotteD reminds one of the Glendewagen. The car spotted was a 3-door model with a hard top. Expect more variants based on the same when the unveil happens.
The cabin in the meanwhile is set to get a host of changes. The plastics are expected to be a tad softer than before and there is a touchscreen infotainment system, climate control, power windows, and steering. It is being said that these features have been borrowed from the new Swift. In the engine department, the new Suzuki Jimny will showcase three mills - a 0.66-litre, 1.0-litre Boosterjet, and 1.2-litre petrol engines. A choice of a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic will be offered. Customers can also option it with a rear wheel drive or Suzuki’s AllGrip technology.
