2019 Toyota Avanza coming soon to Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: UMW Toyota Motor has revealed a lot of information about the Toyota Avanza facelift on its official website. The facelifted MPV will be launched in Malaysia very soon. There will be three variants for the new Avanza - 1.5E, 1.5S and 1.5S+.

The new Avanza gets similar appearance like its larger sibling, Vellfire. Mainly the front fascia is identical to Vellfire with the upper grille pushed through the bodywork. Moreover, the upper grille gives the headlamps two-tier look by bisecting. On the other hand, the lower apron resembles the Indonesian-spec Veloz.

Moving to the rear, the taillights get a new design and is further connected to the tailgate’s red reflectors. While the other notable things have been retained. The car rides on the 15-inch alloy wheels, which are wrapped in 185/65 profile tyres. The new Avanza gets a shark fin antenna, bi-LED headlamps, roof spoiler, and front fog lamps as standard.

Getting inside the car, the dash gets a generic design. Also, it gets some modification so that the new centre stack can sit perfectly. It holds the infotainment screen and also helps control the standard automatic air-conditioning system.

All the variants of the car come with a 2NR-VE 1.5-litre four-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine, which can provide a maximum power of 105 PS coming at 6,000 rpm, and the peak torque sticks at 136 Nm at 4,200 rpm. It is mated to a four-speed automatic transmission and supports rear-wheel-drive setup.
