Jaguar has recently introduced the new XF on the local shores, and it is no denial that this British car is one of the best luxury saloons available on the market. It features sophisticated British styling, roomy interior, advanced technologies, engaging dynamics, and whatnot. The all-new 2022 Jaguar XF is offered only in a sole R-Dynamic variant in Malaysia, which retails for RM 498,800 (on-the-road excluding insurance). Included in the price is 10% sales and service tax as the government has decided to end the SST discount on June 30, 2022. Bookings for the latest version are now open at all Jaguar authorised showrooms worldwide.
Under the bonnet, the revamped XF is equipped with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder Ingenium gasoline mill, which kicks out 250 PS of max power and 365 Nm of peak torque. The transmission duties are taken care of by an eight-speed automatic gearbox supported by shift paddles mounted on the steering wheel. The latter offers an exciting engagement to the driver.
In terms of performance, this rear-wheel-drive executive saloon hit the century sprint in 7.1 seconds.
Design-wise, the Jaguar XF benefits from a number of visual tweaks starting right away from a wider radiator grille that incorporates mesh inserts. Also new is a front bumper with bigger intakes and headlights, which are now paired with restyled daytime running lights featuring the “Double J” signature. At the back, the car features a wider bumper with body-coloured upper valance and dark-tinted LED tail lights.
Further accentuating the sporty look of the luxury sedan are black ‘R-Dynamic’ exterior accents, including blacked-out trims. The car rolls on 18-inch wheels as standard.
Against the measuring tape, the luxury saloon measures 4,962 mm in length, 1982 mm in width, 1 456 mm in height, and spans a wheelbase of 2 960 mm. The boot capacity behind the second row is 448 litres.
Inside the cabin, the facelifted sedan boasts a major makeover with a more premium-looking dashboard, a new cockpit design, a sportier-looking centre console, and upgraded tech. The cockpit is kitted with a new 12.3-inch fully digital instrument panel and a new multifunctional steering wheel.
On the completely redesigned central console, you can notice a new 11.4-inch high-res curved glass display paired with the latest Pivi Pro infotainment system. This integrated and intuitive tech keeps you connected and seamlessly adapts to assist you. As per the automaker, the new display is 48% bigger and 3 times brighter than the unit it replaces. It comes with a simplified menu structure that grants access to oftenly used features in just two taps or less. Just like the new XE, it also supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity options.
