2023 Mercedes-Benz A-Class launched in Malaysia, check full details

KUALA LUMPUR: Just a couple of days after teasing the new A-Class facelift model on its social media handle, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has pulled the wraps off the upgraded sedan. The all-new 2023 Mercedes-Benz A-Class is being offered in two variants - A 200 Progressive Line and A 250 4Matic AMG Line, priced at RM 238,888 and RM 264,000, respectively. The models are locally assembled at the brand’s Pekan facility.

Besides the new A 200 and A 250, the automaker has also brought the fully-imported 2023 Mercedes-AMG A 45 S 4 Matic+ to the local shores, details for which can be found here.

Let's know the 2023 Mercedes-Benz A-Class in detail -

Exterior

On the exterior, the non-AMG sedan duo gets a few upgrades, which include a slightly redesigned grille and headlights. The grille on the A200 features geometric highlights while on the A250, we can spot a sporty star pattern. The DRLs are also new along with different lower intake openings on the front bumper and power bulges on the hood.

Adding to the sedan’s overall sporty appearance are new wheels. The new A 200 Progressive Line boasts a new set of 17-inch five twin-spoke light alloy wheels sprayed with black. The new A 250 AMG Line, on the contrary, comes with a fresh pair of 18-inch AMG five twin-spoke wheels finished in tremolite grey.

The exterior changes round off with a new diffuser and slightly revised light signatures on the rear.

Interior

In terms of cabin upgrades, the all-new 2023 Mercedes-Benz A-Class benefits from the latest-generation MBUX Infotainment system that is compatible with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and offers several customisable display options. The new system also comes with revised telematics that allows it to operate in a more intuitive way. 

Adding to the interior changes are a new steering wheel featuring capacitive controls, a new fingerprint sensor on the central console, 64-colour ambient lighting, and more USB ports. 

Standard equipment continues to include - a 10.25-inch central display, 10.25-inch instrument cluster, comfort seats, Thermatic automatic climate control, auto-dimming interior mirror, Artico man-made leather upholstery, and Velour floor mats. Parts of the AMG Line exclusive kit are sport pedals, AMG Line steering wheel, micro-cut fibre upholstery, and AMG floor mats.

Engine

The new A-Class variants are powered by the same engines as their predecessors, however, the A250 now features a 48V mild hybrid system with an integrated starter generator promising better acceleration. The detailed specifications are as follows -
