Mercedes-Benz Malaysia teases 2023 A-Class facelift ahead of its soon launch

KUALA LUMPUR: Mercedes-Benz Malaysia via a series of social media posts teased the upcoming A-Class facelift. As per the recent images, the model will be offered in two refreshed versions - the Mercedes-AMG A 45 S hatchback and the Mercedes-AMG A 45 S saloon.

Back in October 2022, the automaker launched the refreshed version of the A-Class, including an electrified range. For the AMG lineup, the automaker dropped the A45 and offered consumers the AMG A 35 saloon, AMG A 35 hatchback, and AMG A 45 S hatchback.

Let us get to know the new A-Class In detail

Exterior

The upcoming A-Class features some amazing exterior upgrades including -

• Tweaked new headlights
• Resized front grille
• Reworked tail lights
• Redesigned bumpers
• Aggressive-looking bonnet with two power bulges
• New wheel designs
• AMG emblem on the bonnet edge

Powertrain

All the new A-Class versions are powered by a 48V mild hybrid system, both in petrol and diesel options. The A 200 is powered by a 1.3-liter turbo mill generating a maximum power of 163 hp along with a peak torque of 270 Nm. The model gets a 14hp power bump with the hybrid setup.

The A 250 version, on the other hand, is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo unit making 224 hp and 350 Nm of torque. This one also gets a 14  hp boost via the hybrid option.

The new A 45 S gets a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine pumping out a maximum power of 421 hp and 500 Nm of torque.

Variants

Globally, Mercedes-Benz A-Class is available in seven trim options including - A 250 e hatchback/saloon, A 180 hatchback/saloon, A 220 4MATIC hatchback/saloon, A 250 4MATIC hatchback/saloon, A 180 d hatchback/saloon, A 200 d hatchback/saloon, and A 220 d hatchback/saloon.

The A-Class AMG version is offered in three models worldwide, namely the Mercedes-AMG A 35 4MATIC Saloon, Mercedes-AMG A 35 4 MATIC Hatchback, and Mercedes-AMG A 45 S 4MATIC+ Hatchback.

While the A45 hatch has been dropped from the range, the A35 trim is electrified with a 48V hybrid system.

Mercedes-Benz A-Class Facelift in Malaysia

Currently, the Mercedes-Benz Malaysia local lineup includes the Mercedes-AMG A 45 S 4MATIC+ with the A-Class facelift set to arrive very soon.
