2023 Polestar 2 BST Edition 230 unveiled, limited to 230 units

KUALA LUMPUR: The Swedish electric car brand, Polestar, has just unveiled a limited edition EV, dubbed as Polestar 2 BST Edition 230. The latest model is an updated version of the BST Edition 270 introduced last year. It benefits from new exterior styling, colours, graphics, and cabin materials while retaining the same powertrain configuration and chassis setup.

To begin with, the EV wears an exclusive new shade called Green Nebula, which looks sublime. A Space black shade is also available in place of white or grey options offered for the BST Edition 270.

Adding to the styling upgrades is a new front grille insert housing a flat panel finished in black. The side skirts and wheel-arch claddings are sprayed in body colour while the mirror caps get a high gloss black finish. The EV rides on 21-inch alloy wheels paired with gold-painted brake callipers. These come wrapped in bespoke 245/35R21 Pirelli P Zero tyres.

The automaker also updated the interior of the limited-edition EV with the inclusion of microsuede upholstery for the seats and steering wheel inserts. The new upholstery is made up of "partly-recycled" Nubuck textile. Further accentuating the premium appeal of the black-themed cabin are gold seatbelts. Equipment kit comprises pixel LED headlights, Pilot Assist, four 360-degree cameras, a panoramic glass roof, and Harman Kardon premium audio system.

Powering the 2023 Polestar 2 BST Edition 230 is a dual electric motor setup generating a maximum power of 476 PS and a peak torque of 680 Nm. It comes mated to a 78-kWh battery pack, offering a driving range of 460 km on a single charge. In terms of performance, the EV runs from zero to 100 kmph in 4.4 seconds and clocks a top speed of 205 kmph.

The suspension system of the limited-edition EV comprises Öhlins 2-way adjustable dampers, a front strut bar, and 20% stiffer springs.

As the name suggests, the 2023 Polestar 2 BST Edition 230 will be limited to 230 examples; and that too exclusive to the European and North American markets.
