100,000th Polestar 2 out of production facility and sold

KUALA LUMPUR: Earlier this month Porsche announced the successful production and sales of its 100,000th Taycan and now Polestar is reporting the same for its popular mid-size premium car, the Polestar 2.

The milestone unit came out of the automaker’s parent company Volvo’s Taizhou factory just two and a half years after entering production. And is sold to a lucky customer in Ireland and adorns special commemorative decals that celebrate the achievement.

Thomas Ingenlath, Polestar CEO on Polestar 2 making it to the 100k milestone said, “It’s an amazing achievement – especially given we launched the Polestar 2 during the pandemic. Thank you to the team and all our customers who have joined us on this exciting journey.”

Polestar is currently present in 27 countries with the Polestar 2 being its fifth best-selling premium car in Europe. Thus making it ahead of the likes of the BMW i4, Audi A5, Mercedes-Benz EQA, and Volvo XC40 Recharge Pure Electric.

As for Polestar 2’s ASEAN debut, EV made its Singapore debut last year wherein it is offered in two trim options - the Standard Range Single Motor and Long Range Dual Motor.
