KUALA LUMPUR: We have already talked about Polestar 2's update and now we have some additional information.

The 5-door electric performance fastback received an update for the model year 2024; the premium EV was first revealed in 2019. The receiving end of a much-awaited facility includes a new front fascia, enhanced performance, and rear-wheel drivetrain all this along with a sustainability hike.

For those who aren’t aware as to how ahead the Polestar 2’s was of its time, the EV was the world’s first car to feature an Android Automotive OS-powered infotainment system with Google built-in. A feature that since has only been involved and way a whole together different path in the automotive industry.

2024 Polestar 2 - A brief on the recent update

• The new model debuts the SmartZone technology which hosts some important active safety features like mid-range radar and front-facing camera; thus signifying the high-tech nature of the automaker’s cars

• The car’s sportier expression is reflected via the revised 20-inch forged alloy wheels (part of the Performance Pack)
• The updated model is now powered by a new permanent magnet motor and silicon carbide inverter. The new motor generates a higher power output (from 170 kW to 220 kW), and high torque
  The EV also showcases enhanced dynamic performance and is optimized for maximum efficiency

• The single-motor and dual-motor versions now benefit from a rear-wheel drivetrain, all thanks to the re-balanced drivetrain setup and torque ratio
• The new powertrain setup also leads to an enhanced 0-100 km h acceleration has been improved by 1.2 seconds at 6.2 seconds
• In the dual-motor version, the new rear motor is the primary drive source, and the front axle gets a new asynchronous motor.
• The total system output now rests at 310 kW and 740 Nm
  Apart from displaying greater efficiency, improved traction, and higher performance, the Polestar 2 dual motor model completes a century sprint in just 4.5 seconds

• The entire lineup of Polestar 2 benefits from improved range, thanks to the larger & enhanced batteries and more powerful motors leading to optimised power delivery
