All-new Alpine A110 E-ternite prototype represents the brand’s electric future

KUALA LUMPUR: It was way back in January 2021 that Alpine announced its plan to go all-electric by the end of this decade. And, now its plan is taking the shape of reality in the form of the new A110 E-ternite prototype.

    Key highlights of the Alpine A110 E-ternite prototype -

    • It is alleged that the A110 E-ternite is built on a modular platform developed by Lotus
    • It holds a bespoke battery created by Alpine engineers, featuring four battery cells in the front and eight at the rear. This setup helps optimize the car’s weight distribution

    • Speaking of weight distribution, the engineers managed to retain a 42/58 split compared to the original 43/57 figure
    • With 12 battery cells in total, the all-electric Alpine gets a 60kWh battery capacity
    • The company claims it to offer a driving range of 420 km
    • Compared to the regular A110, the all-electric prototype weighs 258 kg more which is quite amazing as the batteries alone are of 392 kg

    • The EVs engine components are borrowed from the Megane E-Tech and here it generates a maximum power of 239 hp and a peak torque of 300 Nm
    • On the performance front, the A110 E-ternite completes the century sprint in just 4.5 seconds (0.1 sec quicker that the regular model)
