All-new Hyundai Palisade confirmed for December launch; bookings open

KUALA LUMPUR: Hyundai Malaysia has confirmed the launch of the all-new Palisade SUV; the rollout will take place in December itself. Thus marking the large three-row vehicle Hyundai Malaysia's first full-size SUV.

  • On Palisade's arrival, Mr Low Yuan Lung, Managing Director of Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors (HSDM) said, “The Hyundai Palisade will be a new contender in the E-segment SUV, boasting cutting-edge technology, a host of advanced safety features including Hyundai’s Smartsense, ample space and an elegant design. It is Hyundai’s largest SUV with a long wheelbase. Its practical all-purpose build is great for off-roading, road trips and even for daily use.”

    The all-new Palisade will be offered in both 7 and 8-seater configurations and will come with exceptional second- and third-row spaciousness, a generous boot space, and has reconfiguration flexibility. The Malaysia-spec model will be a completely built-up unit from Ulsan, Korea.

    On the design front, the new Palisade benefits from Hyundai's Sensuous Sportiness design concept. Some striking design elements being - a bold & wide cascading grille, extended hood profile, bold C-pillars, LED headlights, LED DRLs, LED turn indicators, panoramic glass side graphic, full volume over-fenders, vertical LED rear tail lamps, and panoramic rear glass.

    The cabin as expected delivers a sense of comfort and calmness. While the seats are wrapped in premium, quilted Nappa leather, the instrument panel is covered in smooth woodgrain trim. Other highlighting features being -

    • Industry-first roof vents diffuser design

    The all-new Hyundai Palisade is offered in two engine options - a 3.8-litre V6, dual CVVT, direct-injected petrol engine and an R2.2 CRDi inline 4 diesel mill. The petrol unit makes a maximum power of 295 PS at 6,000 rpm along with a peak torque of 355 Nm at 5,200 rpm. The diesel power plant, on the other hand, pumps out 200 PS at 3,800 rpm and 440 Nm of torque from 1,750 to 2,750 rpm.

    Hyundai Palisade features

    The power is sent to the wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox with a multi-plate torque converter. It is offered in both two-wheel and HTRA four-wheel-drive configurations.
