New Lotus Emeya: Drivetrain, range and charging

The Lotus Emeya 600 trims are powered by a dual-motor setup delivering a maximum power of 612 PS and a peak torque of 710 Nm. This grunt is enough to hit the century sprint in 4.15 seconds and clock a top speed of 250 kmph.

The two motors are tied up with a 102 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, which offers a WLTP-claimed cruising range of 610 km.

The Lotus Emeya 900, on the other hand, incorporates a more powerful dual-motor setup under the skin, good for making 918 hp and 985 Nm of torque. It slashes the 0-100 kmph time to just 2.78 seconds and achieves a slightly higher top speed of 256 kmph. While it uses the same 102 kWh battery as the 600 model, the range drops to 580 km due to the increased performance output.

The EV supports 22 kW AC charging and up to 350 kW DC fast charging; the latter can juice up 10-80% battery in just 18 minutes.

    New Lotus Emeya: Design

The Emeya 600 features a breathtaking design with active aerodynamic elements offering a low drag coefficient of 0.21 Cd.

It underpins the company’s “porous” design language with a sculpted front fascia featuring a “petal” active lower grille, a sleek bumper, and twin-LED daytime running lights

The roofline smoothly slopes into a sharp rear end, where we can find an active rear spoiler with two selectable levels and a full-width tail light bar. Adding to the styling quotient are curvaceous body panels, striking wheels, a steeply raked rear window, and flush door handles.
