Allianz Malaysia launches cash reward programme for low-mileage EV drivers

KUALA LUMPUR: Allianz General Insurance Company (Malaysia) Berhad has introduced a new initiative aimed at rewarding electric vehicle (EV) drivers for driving less and driving greener.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • Who can join the Allianz EV EcoMiles programme?

BEV owners with an Allianz Private Car Comprehensive policy for private use are eligible to activate EV EcoMiles for free via the MyAllianz app.
  • How do I qualify for the cashback reward?

Activate EV EcoMiles within 30 days of your policy start date, then submit your odometer reading and car photos through the app before or after your policy expires.
  • The Allianz EV EcoMiles programme gives Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) owners insured under the Allianz Private Car Comprehensive policy the chance to earn back up to 15% of their insurance premiums in cash.

The programme is open to BEV policyholders who activate the EcoMiles benefit via the MyAllianz app, free of charge. Once activated, users can track their mileage and qualify for cash rewards based on their annual driving distance.

“Allianz EV EcoMiles supports our customers’ green initiatives and rewards them for their sustainable choices,” said Sean Wang, Chief Executive Officer of Allianz General. “Driving a BEV already helps reduce carbon emissions. Now, whether you’re working from home or only drive on weekends, this programme takes that a step further by offering real cash rewards.”

Wang added that the initiative reflects Allianz’s broader commitment to aligning with its customers’ evolving lifestyles while encouraging eco-friendly practices. “By offering tangible rewards for low mileage and BEV usage, we’re empowering customers to make sustainable choices that benefit both them and the environment,” he said.

    Reward Tiers

Under Allianz EV EcoMiles, policyholders are eligible for:

    • 15% cashback for drivers logging up to 10,000 km per year

    • 10% cashback for drivers covering 10,001–15,000 km per year

The cashback is calculated based on the net basic premium (after applying the No Claim Discount). To qualify, policyholders must activate the benefit within 30 days of their policy’s effective date and submit odometer readings and vehicle photos via the MyAllianz app within 14 days before or after the policy expires.

Once verified, the cashback will be credited directly to the customer’s account.

    Limited-Time RM100 Charging Credit

As a launch incentive, Allianz is also giving away RM100 worth of EV charging credits to BEV owners who purchase a Private Car Comprehensive policy between 29 September and 31 October 2025, and successfully activate EcoMiles within 30 days.

The redemption code will be emailed to eligible customers and can be used through the ChargEV app by Yinson Greentech.

Allianz says this initiative is part of its ongoing effort to combine protection with innovation, while encouraging drivers to adopt more sustainable habits.
