Android-powered head unit update for the Haval H1

KUALA LUMPUR: The popularity of Android seems to have no end, and it can be found on almost any major electronic device. In the automotive industry, we have Android Auto, and sometimes even the entire infotainment system will be Android based. This is precisely what Go Auto has done in an update giving to their H1 SUV.

The Haval H1 now comes with a new double-din Android-based infotainment system. Along with this, the alloy wheels are new. The new 16-inch rims feature a Y-spoke design and are dual-tone in nature. Only the top of the range Elite model will get these rims though, while other variants will continue to have the same alloys as before. The third minor change is the adjustable head restraint for the middle rear seat that is standard across the range.

There have been no changes under the hood. The H1 is still powered by the same 1.5-litre 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine which churns out 105 bhp and 138 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels via the 6-speed automated manual transmission (the only transmission option available).

The H1 comes with a rather generous equipment list. Standard features include halogen headlights, roof rails, multifunction leather-wrapped steering wheel, reverse sensors, fabric seats, and fog lights. Safety kit on all models includes - ABS with EBD, brake assist, hill start assist, and stability control. Step up to the Premium model and what you get is a reverse camera, leather seats, Battery Alert Sensor (BAS), GPS navigation and a rear-view mirror with integrated SmartTAG reader. The top of the line Elite variant adds a dash cam, centre front armrest, LED DRLs, projector halogen headlights with LED positioning lights, and tinted windows.

The Haval H1 is available in 3 variants. The base Comfort variant will cost RM 59,748, next up is the Premium model which will set you back by RM 65,583, and lastly, the top end Elite comes in at RM 72,389. You also get a 7-year unlimited mileage warranty included in the price.
