Bentley Bentayga First Edition Unveiled, Limited to 608 Units

Kuala Lumpur: Bentley recently unveiled a limited edition version of its Bentayga SUV dubbed as Bentayga first edition. According to the automaker, it is the “most powerful, most luxurious, most exclusive and fastest SUV in the world.” With the first unit being booked for Queen Elizabeth II, other units are reserved for 608 of the model's first customers.

Bentley Bentayga was recently revealed at an event in Los Angeles to a select group of VIPs only. The specific number of 608 units is chosen to depict its power figure of 608 PS along with a peak torque of 900 Nm which are produced by its 6.0-litre TSI W12 engine. Further, it is mated with an eight-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels. This car can complete a century sprint in just 4.1 seconds along with a top speed of 301 kmph. This is the reason why it is called the fastest SUV in the world.

To set this model apart from other Bentayga models, Union Jack badging is provided on certain parts. Apart from that it features additional carbon-fibre parts, illuminated treadplates, and 22-inch wheels which are now finished in black paint and polished metal, unlike the old silver paint. Inside the already luxurious Bentayga receives 'Diamond within Diamond' quilted seats and door panels. The Union Jack badging can also be seen in the cabin along with ambient lighting and embroidered seats with contrast stitching. The cabin's high-quality materials include metal, wood and leather which are described as “meticulous tolerances between elements of trim – sets a new standard in automotive design”.

Bentley's sales and marketing boss Kevin Rose said: "With the First Edition we have created the ultimate expression of the Bentayga's spirit. It is equipped with an array of striking features that celebrate both the pioneering nature of the Bentayga and its unique abilities." Buyers of the First Edition will also receive a unique Breitling watch which would afterwards be offered as a choice only to regular Bentayga buyers.
