BMW 3-Series Facelift Unveiled

Kuala Lumpur: BMW Malaysia has finally given the 3-Series a much needed facelift. Since 1975, this car has evolved itself in many ways and now runs in sixth generation. Apart from the designing aspect, the F30 model has also been updated with new engines and two new variants namely BMW 318i and BMW 330i.

The all-new BMW 330i M Sport 5

Towards the exterior, mild changes can be noticed with reworked headlamps, bumpers and wheels. With a redeveloped chassis, it has become more dynamic and agile than before. The most striking difference can be seen in the entry-level BMW 318i which features a 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder engine. Making its 3-series debut, this engine churns out a maximum power of 136 hp along with a peak torque of 220 Nm. From a position of halt, this car takes just nine seconds to reach an acceleration of 100 kmph. The fuel efficiency for this variant comes to 5.1 litre per 100 km.

The all-new BMW 330i M Sport 2

Talking about BMW 320i, it gets a new 2.0-litre, four-cylinder engine which delivers a maximum power of 184 hp along with 290 Nm of peak torque while 330i also gets this same engine with increased power figures of 252 hp and 350 Nm. The latter’s performance figures are comparatively impressive as it completes the century sprint in just 5.8 seconds while the 320i takes 7.2 seconds to complete this task. The fuel efficiency of 330i comes to 6.1 litre per 100km while 318i and 320i turns out to be more fuel efficient at 5.1 litre per 100 km and 5.6 litre per 100 km respectively. All of these engines are further paired with 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission which sends power to rear wheels.

Prices for all the variants are quoted below:

  • BMW 318i Luxury Line: RM208,800
  • BMW 320i Sport Line: RM238,800
  • BMW 320i M Sport: RM258,800
  • BMW 320d M Sport: RM268,800
  • BMW 330i M Sport: RM308,800

All these prices are on-the-road excluding insurance but includes BMW Malaysia’s five-year unlimited mileage warranty and free scheduled service programme.
