BYD Malaysia opens new showrooms in Kuching and Alor Setar

KUALA LUMPUR: The Chinese automaker BYD has expanded its footprint in Malaysia with the launch of two new showrooms - a mall-concept showroom in Kuching, Sarawak and a 3S centre in Alor Setar, Kedah.

Located on the Ground floor of City One Megamall, the new BYD mall-concept showroom was launched together by Sime Darby Beyond Auto and local dealer Regas EV Auto Sdn Bhd. The grand opening of the outlet was officiated by YB Dato Sri Professor Dr Sim Kui Hian, Deputy Premier and Minister for Public Health, Housing and Local Government of Sarawak. 

The event was also graced by the presence of Mr. Eagle Zhao, Managing Director of BYD Malaysia Sdn Bhd; Mr. Calvin Sze Tho, Head of Sales Distribution, Sime Darby Beyond Auto; and Mr. David Tay, Chairman of Regas EV Auto Sdn Bhd.

Upon inaugurating the new BYD showroom, Dr Sim said, “The launch of BYD’s new mall-concept showroom is a testament to the commitment of BYD to shape a sustainable and interconnected future for our urban spaces. The showroom not only showcases BYD’s impressive range of electric vehicles but also symbolises BYD’s dedication to reimagining the urban landscape. We recognise that this initiative aligns perfectly with Malaysia’s ongoing efforts to foster a more sustainable and environmentally conscious society.”

The key highlights of the BYD showroom in Kuching, Sarawak are - 

• The showroom operates as a 1S centre with a 3,000 sq ft showroom displaying the brand’s latest EV range in Malaysia, including the Atto 3 and Dolphin
• It offers a unique experience to shoppers through an immersive retail display
• As for the after-sales service and maintenance, BYD Kuching service centre houses two service bays and is conveniently located right across the street on Jalan Tun Jugah

BYD 3S centre in Alor Setar, Kedah

BYD opens the new 3S centre in Alor Setar, Kedah in association with Hong Thai Motor Trading Sdn Bhd. The facility offers sales, service, as well as spare parts with five service bays, managed by three certified customer service officers.

While commenting on the Alor Setar centre, BYD Malaysia managing director Eagle Zhao, said "Our growing presence in the northern region aims to empower Malaysians living here to have the convenience and peace of mind with their EV journey."
