CEER Exobot EVs revealed - 1,111 hp power, 0-100 kmph in 2.1 seconds

KUALA LUMPUR: The global EV market is getting increasingly crowded with new brands launching every now and then. Here comes a new player from an unexpected corner of the world; we are talking about ‘CEER,’ which is the first homegrown brand of Saudi Arabia.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • Who owns the Ceer EV brand?

Ceer is a joint venture between Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund and Taiwanese electronics manufacturing giant Foxconn.
  • What are the key highlights of Exobot EVs?

The Exobot EVs (sedan and SUV) feature an unusual wedge-shaped design, huge glass areas, dramatic wing doors, and a pillar-to-pillar 48-inch curved Digital Horizon interior display, an active chassis, and up to Level 3 ADAS. These are powered by a tri-motor setup that produces 1,111 hp and 1,500 Nm of torque, enabling the sedan to hit the century sprint in 2.1 seconds, while the SUV takes 2.4 seconds.
  • CEER has marked its entry into the passenger electric vehicle market with the introduction of two models- the Exobot sedan and SUV. Part of the brand’s planned portfolio of seven models by 2030, the Exobot series will be produced at the Ceer Manufacturing Complex (CMC) at King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) in Saudi Arabia, touted as the largest automotive production facility in the Middle East.

    Ceer Exobot EVs: Key highlights

    Dimensions

The Exobot sedan measures 5.26 metres in length, 2.1 metres in width and 1.43 metres in height. Meanwhile, the Exobot SUV is 5.02 metres long, 2.1 metres wide and 1.69 metres tall, with both EVs spanning the same wheelbase of 3,200 mm.

    Exterior

The Exobot sedan and SUV feature a distinctive design inspired by Saudi Arabia’s landscape, rooted in its culture, and reflective of its vision.  With a wide stance, both EVs come with a wedge-shaped profile, with a slim horizontal light signature at the front, which maximises visual width and creates huge on-road presence.

The Exobot range features the largest windshield ever produced, with a length of 2.4 meters, and is set at a radical 15° inclination, the most inclined in its class. The ultra-thin, laminated glass features an advanced reflective coating, which redefines aerodynamics and visibility, shields occupants from the sun, and minimises solar heat absorption.

The EVs ride on lightweight forged aluminium wheels and come with nearly three-metre-long wing doors. Operated remotely via the key fob or activated with a light touch of the discreet door-mounted controls, they open in a 60 cm arc and offer a wider opening for front and rear passengers.

    Interior and safety

Just like the exterior, the interior looks equally fascinating, with a 48-inch screen that spans pillar to pillar, paired with a vertical 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system and physical controls.

Other key highlights include: a yoke-style steering wheel, an 8-inch rear display, a tri-zone climate system, steer-by-wire technology, and an advanced Virtual Voice Assistant that supports both Arabic and English languages. The First Edition variants exclusively get black and red Nappa leather seats, a unique First Edition plaque, and a ‘First Edition’ emblem debossed into the headrests.

The Ceer EVs feature a complete suite of active and passive safety systems and an advanced autonomous ecosystem that acts as a vigilant co-pilot, offering hands-free driving support, automated lane changes and point-to-point navigation-based autonomous driving on highways.

    Drivetrain, range and charging

Built on an 800-volt platform, the top-spec Exobot cars are equipped with a tri-motor setup, producing a maximum power of 1,111 hp and a peak torque of 1,500 Nm. The sedan can accelerate from zero to 100 kmph in 2.1 seconds and has a top speed of 250 kmph. Meanwhile, the SUV completes the century sprint in 2.4 seconds and attains a max speed of 210 kmph.

The Exobot sedan is estimated to offer a driving range of 670 km (NEDC), while the Exobot SUV has a claimed range of 560 km. Both EVs support ultra-fast charging that can charge the 112-kWh battery from 10 to 80% in less than 30 minutes.

With the debut of Exobot, Ceer marks a transformative step into a new era of electric mobility and strengthens the Kingdom’s position as a leading regional force in the automotive industry.
