Chery Malaysia announces winner of PHEV Test Drive Lucky Draw contest

KUALA LUMPUR: As a part of its year-end promotional campaign, Chery Malaysia rolled out the Plug-in Hybrid  Electric Vehicle (PHEV) Test Drive Lucky Draw contest in December 2025, with the Tiggo Cross HEV as the grand prize. The company has now announced Joan Gan Cherl Wean as the lucky winner of the contest. 

Gan’s name was drawn from a pool of over 1,300 participants during a live winner announcement streamed on Chery Malaysia’s official social media platforms. 

She has been the owner of a Chery Tiggo 7 Pro for over a year, and was visiting the facility for a routine service when the staff encouraged her to test drive the Tiggo 7 PHEV and join the contest, which turned into a windfall gain for her. She added that her husband has been looking to change his car to an SUV, and the new car came at the perfect time. 

“This is my first time winning something from a lucky draw, and it is the grand prize; this is truly a great start for the New Year,” said the mother of two.  Initially, she thought it was a prank, but she was convinced when the sales team sent her the video recording of the winner’s live draw session. Gan collected the brand-new SUV alongside her mother and other family members.

Chery PHEV Test Drive Lucky Draw contest 

The test drive lucky draw contest for the Tiggo 7 PHEV and Tiggo 8 PHEV models aimed to encourage Malaysians to experience the Chery Super Hybrid setup firsthand. 

The contest was held from 9 Dec 2025 to 6 Jan 2026, with participants required to test-drive any  Chery PHEV vehicle and snap a photo with the vehicle after their session to stand a chance of winning prizes worth up to RM 200,000, including the Tiggo Cross. 

“We want customers to experience our PHEVs firsthand not just relying on reviews or recommendations by their friends. Once you have driven a Chery PHEV, you not only  understand how it operates but also know the Chery Super Hybrid technology better. You will  then be able to decide if it is the best fit for you,” said Lee Wen Hsiang, Vice President of Chery  Malaysia.
