Chery Malaysia issues statement on viral complaint regarding Omoda 5

KUALA LUMPUR: Chery Malaysia has responded to the recent viral post related to an Omoda 5 with brake issues. The widely circulated video was posted on social media by a Chery Omoda 5 customer. Chery Malaysia acknowledged the issue on April 7 and informed the public that it is actively trying to address the matter by engaging with the customer.

Chery Malaysia has now confirmed in a statement that the Omoda 5 that encountered brake issues underwent extensive testing by both Puspakom and Chery Malaysia’s technical teams. Despite the claim of faulty brakes by the customer, the company has claimed that during the thorough investigation, no issues were detected. Additionally, the vehicle was examined by Puspakom so that it could provide the condition’s impartial assessment.

Puspakom performed a 10-point inspection to assess the braking performance of the vehicle. The Puspakom test results have indicated the vehicle’s satisfactory brake system performance.Top of Form Both Puspakom and Chery Auto Malaysia's teams found the vehicle to be faultless.
