Chery O5 Malaysian launch is just two days away!

KUALA LUMPUR: As teased earlier, Chery is gearing up to introduce the Omoda 5 facelift with a new name in Malaysia. Rebranded as the O5, the refreshed SUV will hit the local showrooms on September 10, 2025. 

The automaker dropped a teaser of the upcoming Chery O5 on its social media handles earlier today, confirming that the SUV is just two days away. It also announced the upcoming O5 roadshow, scheduled to run from September 9 to September 15, 2025.

Notably, the automaker has dropped the Omoda badging and now markets the SUV under the Chery umbrella, rather than Omoda | Jaecoo.

2025 Chery O5: What do we know so far

• The Omoda 5 facelift or the Chery O5 features bold design updates, refined driving dynamics, and advanced smart technologies, making it the perfect SUV for those who want to stand out in style.

• It underpins Chery’s new “Art in Motion” design philosophy and features a new diamond-shaped front grille, new DRLs, and a redesigned X-shaped front bumper. It also features a restyled pair of striking 18-inch alloy rims.
• The Chery O5 will feature a new multi-link rear suspension setup, offering an enhanced driving experience.
• Under the hood, the SUV gets a new 6-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox combined with the tried and tested 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine.

• The interior styling is likely to remain unchanged with a similar set of features, including a massive 20.5-inch integrated dual screen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, wireless charger and automatic dual-zone climate control, and plush faux leather seats complete with front ventilation.
• Safety pack will include six airbags, ADAS Level 2 driver assistance, and an innovative 540° camera system.

Chery O5 roadshow

As mentioned above, the Chery O5 roadshow will run from September 9 to September 15, allowing enthusiasts and potential buyers to check out the new SUV up close. Set to be held at Premier Terrace, Lot 10, Kuala Lumpur, the show offers exciting perks such as -
