Ferrari registers 16% growth in 2022; first pure EV coming in 2025

KUALA LUMPUR: Ferrari continued to captivate car enthusiasts with its iconic design, powerful engines, and racing heritage in 2022. The Italian luxury sports car manufacturer sold a total of 13,221 cars during the year with a 16% hike as compared to the previous year.

    In terms of region, China observed the strongest growth with total deliveries of 1,552 cars representing a y-o-y growth of 73%.

    “Last year ended with outstanding financial results that met and exceeded our guidance and set new records across all metrics, such as a net profit of Euro 939 million and an industrial free cash flow generation of Euro 758 million. These figures provide the base for an even stronger 2023, fuelled by a persistently high demand for our products worldwide,” said Benedetto Vigna, Ferrari CEO.

    Ferrari introduced its first-ever SUV, the Purosangue, in September 2022 which is expected to hit the roads in Q2 2023. The demand for the SUV has exceeded expectations, with orders reaching exceptionally high levels, which will add to Ferrari's customer base in 2023, says the automaker.

    The Ferrari Purosangue runs on a 6.5-litre V12 drivetrain capable of generating a maximum power of 715 hp and a peak torque of 716 Nm. The power is sent to the wheels via an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission.

    As for electrification plans, Vigna confirmed that the company is "fully on track" with the launch of its first all-electric car slated in 2025.
