Ford F-150 Raptor launched as CS 3500 in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: The all-new Ford F-150 Raptor has officially made its debut in Malaysia and will be sold through the Hamawangsa Kredit. It has been registered here as the CS 3500 and gets a price tag of RM 780,888 OTR without insurance. The all-new F-150 Raptor is assembled locally in Gurun, Kedah and the development process of the right-hand-drive version of the vehicle is taken care by Clive Sutton’s Bespoke division. In the ASEAN region, Clive Sutton’s primary dealer is Hamawangsa Kredit.

The all-new pickup truck is equipped with some practical and off-roading equipment. A full LED light bar is placed on the roof, along with LED lights on the front grille. There is also the all-weather floor mats, an electronic tonneau cover, and trailer tow package.

Inside the cabin, the Ford F-150 Raptor (or CS 3500) gets an instrument cluster display measuring 4.2-inch in size. The cabin is packed with a lot of other quality features, such as 360-degree camera, electric powered seats, leather upholstery, sunroof, dual-zone manual air-conditioning, adaptive cruise control, and multi-function steering wheel. Speaking of the safety features, the vehicle comes with SecuriCode keypad, Terrain Management System, and Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with Cross-Traffic Alert.

The truck is powered by a 3.5-litre V6 twin-turbo EcoBoost engine, which is capable of delivering a maximum of 450 hp power. The peak torque churned out is 691 Nm. The engine is further coupled with a 10-speed automatic gearbox and a two-speed four-wheel drive system.

Ford Malaysia also offers an option of availing a Monster Intercooler package. It helps in increasing the maximum power to 520 hp and the peak torque to 827 Nm.

Ford is also expected to provide a diesel variant of the F150 by the end of the year. This new powerplant could be the Power Stroke V6 3.0-litre turbo diesel that can make up to 250 hp of power along with 596 Nm of peak torque.
