Ford F-150 Raptor makes way to Malaysia, costs RM 788,000

KUALA LUMPUR: The end of the year brings joy to the lives of Ford lovers as the performance pickup truck makes its way to the Malaysian market. We are talking about the Ford F-150 Raptor, which according to the company, is a locally-assembled CKD model and available as a right-hand drive version. Ford now sells only the F-150 Raptor in the country and the standard F-150 has been discontinued.

The Ford F-150 Raptor is powered by a twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 3.5-litre engine that pumps out a max power of 456.2 PS and a peak torque of 691 Nm, mated to a 10-speed automatic gearbox. A high output motor is paired to the truck’s 2-speed 4WD system. For added power, a Monster Intercooler package is on offer that holds the capability of producing 527.2 PS and 827 Nm of peak torque.

Moreover, the truck comes with a Torsen front differential, 3-inch Fox Racing Shox dampers, 17-inch aluminium wheels that are wrapped with 315/70 BF All Terrain tyres and long-travel suspension setup.

The offerings list doesn’t end here as the Ford F-150 Raptor gets an 8-inch infotainment system inside the cabin for entertainment needs while on the move, a 360-degree camera for an extended view, 10-way power adjustable seats with memory, cooling and heating functions. Additionally, it gets a dual-zone automatic climate control feature for occupants to be at comfort even in the scorching heat.

Additionally, the Ford F-150 Raptor gets a multi-function steering wheel, 4.2-inch instrument cluster, sunroof, leather seats, Terrain Management system, SecuriCode keypad, Cors-traffic Alert and Blind-Spot Monitoring System, all as standard.

For a flamboyant look, Ford offers an exterior package that has LED light bar, Sutton Rex Revolver grille with LEDs, bed liners, wheel arch scoops, Sutton carbon tailgate trim and LED spotlights mounted on the side mirrors.
