Four New Ford SUVs to be Unveiled by 2020

Kuala Lumpur: Recently Ford announced in a press release that it is all set to add four new SUVs to its global lineup. As told by the American automaker, these SUVs would be of the segment which the company haven't explored before yet. So we can easily place our bets on Ford planning a Jeep Wrangler rival. Ford has already captured a big part of the full-sized SUV segment worldwide, now it would be interesting to see how it handles the new market.

The SUV sales of Ford has always seen a rising graph in United States and in other countries as well. Even here in Malaysia, Ford SUVs have always been a talking point among auto lovers. In late nineties when Ford Ranger made a debut in Malaysia, it became one of the best-selling models of the brand. This proves that Malaysian auto-lovers prefer to buy vehicles that offer a combination of performance, safety and new technology. Because of this SUV is one of the most popular segment in Malaysia.

Talking about Ford's future plans, it is speculated that the American automaker is going to unveil a mid-size SUV at the upcoming Mobile World Congress that would be followed by a more rugged SUV for 2016 Geneva Motor Show scheduled to be held in March. Another aspect which have contributed to the growth of SUVs is low gas prices. So, Ford believes that if it is backed by improved fuel efficiency then even a hike in gas prices wouldn't affect their sales.
