Gear up for IAM-MME 2024 8-9 June: A car lover’s paradise awaits!

KUALA LUMPUR: This weekend, car enthusiasts in Malaysia have a lot to look forward to as the 2024 International Automodified (IAM) and Malaysia Motor Expo (MME) take center stage at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. Scheduled for June 8th and 9th, this event promises a spectacular showcase of automotive innovation and creativity.

Win a modified Honda N-Box

One of the major highlights of this year’s IAM-MME and the main draw apart from the exotic vehicles is the chance to drive home a modified Honda N-Box, valued at RM80,000. To enter the draw, attendees need only purchase a ticket to the show or spend a minimum of RM10 on official IAM-MME 2024 merchandise. This exciting prize is expected to draw large crowds, adding to the buzz surrounding the event.

IAM, renowned as the largest car tuning and lifestyle show in the region, will feature 300 of Malaysia’s finest modified cars. The event, which has been touring over 38 cities in Indonesia since 2001, as well as Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand, will also host its first show in the United States this August. Enthusiasts can expect to see top-tier modifications competing for awards in 100 categories, with the prestigious King of IAM KL title up for grabs.

Celebrating the COTY Awards

In conjunction with IAM, the 2024 Malaysia Motor Expo celebrates the 20th Malaysian Car of the Year (COTY) Awards. The awards honour the best new vehicles introduced between August 1, 2023, and July 31, 2024. Attendees will get to see the 2023 COTY winners, including the Honda e-HEV Civic RS, alongside models from Volvo, Ford, BYD, Perodua, and Chery.

 

The COTY Awards are a significant part of the expo, recognizing excellence in automotive design, technology, safety, and value for money. The judging panel, comprising seasoned automotive journalists and industry professionals, will also introduce a new category this year to celebrate achievements in vehicle electrification and EV-friendly properties and developers.

Not only modified cars but Innovation and Technology on display too

The IAM-MME 2024 is not just about showcasing cars; it’s also a platform for automotive innovation. Various automotive stakeholders, car dealers, and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) will present the latest in automotive technology. This year’s event will highlight vocational training programs leading to internationally recognized certification in electric vehicles, reflecting the industry's shift towards sustainable mobility.
