Haval’s parent company, Great Wall Motors presented the much-anticipated H6 for the first time in Malaysia at the recently held 2023 Malaysia Auto Show. It is one of the two Haval SUVs that the Chinese marque has earmarked for the local market, the Jolion being the other one. The SUV is likely to launch in Malaysia in the fourth quarter of this year.

    In terms of design, the Haval H6 is quite a looker thanks to its handsome beast styling. It features a huge chrome grille flanked by Smart LED headlights and LED daytime running lights. The other key elements previewed by the unit shown in the auto event are - LED fog lights on the front and rear, roof rails, a LED light strip connecting the tail lights, a panoramic sunroof, and a powered tailgate. The ‘HEV’ badge on the rear confirms the electrified character of the SUV.

    The Malaysia-spec Haval H6 is likely to run on 19-inch alloy wheels. And as far as colour options are concerned, we can refer to the H6 Thai colour palette which includes - Ayers Gray, Swarovski Blue, Hamilton White, Sun Black, and Burgundy Red. 

    Against the measuring tape, the SUV measures 4,683 mm in length, 1,886 mm in width, and 1,724 mm in height and carries a wheelbase of 2,738 mm long. With these dimensions, the Haval H6 is directly squared up against the Proton X70 which is 4,519 mm long, 1,831 mm wide, and 1,694 tall. The wheelbase is measured at 2,670 mm.

    Inside, we can expect a minimalist dashboard design with dual tone finish, a tall central console, and loads of hi-tech goodies. The latter is likely to include the following -

    The version of the upcoming Haval H6 showcased at the Malaysia Auto Show is a mild-hybrid hybrid vehicle. It is equipped with a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that delivers a maximum power of 167 PS and a peak torque of 285 Nm. The mill is tied up with an electric motor capable of generating 177 PS. Together, the system churns out a maximum power of 243 PS and 530 Nm of torque.

    On the transmission front, it gets a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission sending power to the front wheels.
