Honda Accord 2016 Showcased at Delhi Auto Expo

Kuala Lumpur: Honda has showcased its luxury premium sedan, the all-new Honda Accord, at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo which is currently underway in the capital city of India. The new Honda Accord 2016 made its global debut last year in the US, and is expected to soon arrive in Malaysia in order to compete with the current segment leader, Toyota Camry.

Honda is currently on a mission to roll out comprehensively updated models of their lineup. In addition to the new Accord, another important upcoming product from Honda's stable is the Civic 2016, which was recently spotted testing in Thailand, thus exposing the Japanese manufacturer's plans to introduce this new sedan in the ASEAN markets soon. Moreover, the fact that Honda Malaysia is constantly raking in huge sales numbers makes it highly likely that the management will think about introducing their flagship sedan to the Malaysian market.

Talking about the refreshed Honda Accord, which marks its 9th generation, the design has been given significant tweaks that can clearly distinguish the new Honda Sedan from its outgoing model. The front fascia gets an aggressively sculpted bumper, chrome grille, and LED headlamps while the side profile showcases the huge footprint that this Honda car accommodates. The interiors too have been given additional features, including the 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, that is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Power will be supplied from a 2.0-litre i-VTEC unit, that develops a maximum power of 139 hp, while the peak torque is rated at 122 Nm. This Honda engine can be opted with either a stick-shift transmission or an auto box, both having six gear ratios.

Though the Accord isn't a mass market product, Honda is aiming to cap a larger share of the market, owing to an expanding Indian economy.
