Lynk & Co reveals 06 SUV in China

KUALA LUMPUR: Lynk & Co has unveiled the 06 SUV which is likely to arrive at the very beginning of next year in China. The SUV is all set to get the same Compact Modular Architecture as its predecessors. The 06 comes with a D-pillar design and the front fascia is identical to the recent models of the brand.

Coming to the rear, the 06 SUV’s look is unique and is different from 01, 02 and 05 (upcoming) crossovers. Ditching the hockey stick-shaped taillights of existing 01 and 02, the 06 SUV features taillights having a trailing line, similar to the Lexus LC500. The splashes of colour are featured within the alloy wheels and just on the top of the windows.

Coming to its measurements, the 06 SUV is smaller than the 01 SUV. The length of the former is 4,340 mm, while the width is 1,820 mm. It is built on a wheelbase of 2,540 mm.

Under the hood, the Lynk & Co 06 SUV gets a 1.5-litre turbocharged three-cylinder engine, which is capable of churning out a maximum power of 173 hp. It also has a PHEV version containing the same engine. The total output of the engine is 189.1 hp.

The latest brand of Geely, Lynk & Co has not confirmed yet whether the 06 SUV will be headed to the European market or not. It is likely to be offered with the same unconventional lease arrangements as the 01.

In the last week of November, Lynk & Co revealed the 01 HEV through WeChat. It replaces the 2.0-litre turbocharged four-pot engine with the 1.5-litre three-cylinder one. The engine is further paired with an electric motor,

which is linked to the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The engine is tuned to deliver a maximum power of 176 hp along with a peak torque of 260 Nm. The total system output of PHEV is 258 hp.
