Malaysia Autoshow 2024: Leapmotor C10 EV makes ASEAN debut

KUALA LUMPUR: Earlier this year, Stellantis Malaysia announced plans to bring the Leapmotor EV brand to the local market. Today, the conglomerate revealed the first Leapmotor EV, the C10, at the Malaysia Autoshow 2024.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • What is the range of the Leapmotor C10?

The Leapmotor C10 comes in two battery configurations - 52.9kWh LFP and 69.9kWh, offering a cruising range of 410 km and 530 km, respectively.
  • When will the Leapmotor C10 launch in Malaysia?

The Leapmotor C10 EV is likely to hit the Malaysian roads by the end of 2024.
  • Based on the company’s self-developed LEAP 3.0 technology architecture, the Leapmotor C10 is a family-centric D-segment vehicle built according to global design and safety standards. Stellantis recently started operating Leapmotor International for its worldwide distribution. Notably, Malaysia is the first ASEAN country to catch the preview of the EV.

The automaker remained tight-lipped on the specifications of the Malaysia-spec Leapmotor C10. The EV on display at Stellantis’s booth is also a left-hand drive Chinese market model.

Well, as for the preliminary details, we can refer to the Chinese market where the EV comes equipped with a rear-mounted electric motor kicking out a maximum power of 228 hp and a peak torque of 320 Nm of torque. It accelerates from zero to 100 kmph in 7.29 seconds and hits a top speed of 170 kmph.

The EV comes in two battery configurations in China - 52.9kWh LFP and 69.9kWh, offering a cruising range of 410 km and 530 km (on the CLTC cycle), respectively.

The upcoming Leapmotor C10 features “industry-leading intelligent electric technology such as central integrated electronic and electrical architecture, cell-to-chassis (CTC) technology, and an intelligent cockpit. It offers the best-in-segment premium ride and handling experience with a 5-star E-NCAP rating,” says the automaker.

The Leapmotor C10 is likely to hit the Malaysian roads by the end of 2024.
