Malaysia-bound Denza B8 gets a new Flash-Charge Edition in China
KUALA LUMPUR: The Denza B8, known as Bao 8 (sold under BYD’s off-roader sub-brand Fangchengbao), has received a Flash-Charge Edition in China. The latest model features faster charging capability, advanced suspension setup, and improved driving assistance systems.

- The Denza B8 is a three-row SUV measuring 5,195 mm in length, 1,994 mm in width, and 1,905 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,920 mm.
- The Denza B8 Flash-Charge Edition comes with an ultra-fast charging system that significantly reduces charging time.
- Another key highlight of the SUV’s latest edition is the second-gen YunNian-P Ultra intelligent hydraulic suspension system. It features a dual-valve configuration instead of a single-valve damping structure and introduces 3-level stiffness adjustment along with road preview capability.

- At its core lies BYD’s DMO plug-in hybrid platform, featuring a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine with dual electric motors and 46.7-kWh Blade Battery technology.
- The setup delivers a combined output of 550 kW and 760 Nm and a combined range of up to 1,380 km.
- In terms of performance, the Denza B8 runs from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.8 seconds.
- The model is offered in five-, six-, and seven-seat configurations in the Chinese market.
- As for safety, it comes packed with Huawei ADS 4 driver assistance technology, dual lidar sensors, 12 ultrasonic radars, 3 millimetre-wave radars, and 11 cameras.

The Denza B8 Flash-Charge Edition is priced at CNY 419,800 in China, which is approximately equivalent to RM 243,000.
Closer to home, the Denza B8 is ready to hit the Malaysian market later this year. The sturdy off-roader SUV will be offered in plug-in hybrid form, equipped with a 2.0-litre mill, dual motors and a 36.8 kWh Blade LFP battery pack, delivering a combined output of 450 kW and 760 Nm and a combined range of up to 1,040 km (NEDC). The all-electric range is estimated at 115 km.
With registrations of interest already open, the Denza B8 will make its Malaysian debut on May 21, 2026.
