Malaysia-bound Denza Z9GT EV debuts in Europe with FLASH charging tech

KUALA LUMPUR: The Denza Z9GT EV has created a significant buzz in the luxury car market with its supercar-level performance and new-gen technology features. Earmarked to launch in Malaysia later this year, this electric SUV has just made its grand debut in Europe. 

The automaker previewed its flagship performance GT model to the European public at the Paris Opera on April 8. It is now available for ordering on the brand’s official websites across 7 European countries, including Germany, France, Italy, and Spain.

What does the Denza Z9GT EV bring to the table?

Impressive performance 

The Euro-spec Z9GT is powered by a triple-motor setup that kicks out a maximum power of 960 PS, ensuring the EV to hit 0-100 kmph mark in less than three seconds. The setup comes mated to a 122-kWh Blade Battery, offering up to 800 km (CLTC) in the rear-wheel-drive edition.

Denza unveiled the game-changing flash charging technology at the debut event, enabling EVs to charge as fast as refuelling. The technology combines 1000V high-voltage architecture and BYD's latest Blade Battery 2.0, and achieves a maximum charging power of up to 1,500 kW. 

The FLASH Charging brings the principle of 'Ready in 5, Full in 9, Cold Add 3,' based on its standout recharging times, which means the battery takes -

• 5 minutes for 10% to 70%
• 9 minutes for 10% to 97%
• 12 minutes for 20% to 97%, in conditions as cold as -30°C, which can drastically reduce charging speeds
