Meet Kenkichi Sogo, Isuzu Malaysia’s new COO

KUALA LUMPUR: Yes, that is right Isuzu Malaysia has a new Chief Operating Officer, who goes by the name Kenkichi. He replaces Masayuki Suzuki who moved back to Japan to assure a new role at Isuzu Japan.

Coming back to Sogo, the 43-year-old is not new to the Malaysian market. And prior to his new position, he was the general manager at Isuzu Malaysia (for 4 years) and looked over light commercial vehicle and parts operations. His overall tenure with Isuzu to date counts to seven years.

After taking over the position of the COO, Sogo’s first order of business is to prioritise the health safety of its customers and employees, as per the National Recovery Plan.

2021 Isuzu D-Max

One of the hottest selling models currently in the automaker’s lineup is the D-Max that as per Sogo has created significant interests and witnessed a surge in vehicle bookings over the past three months resulting in Isuzu claiming a consecutive No.2 spot in the sales charts.”

On the health safety measures put into place, he said, “the constant threat of infections necessitates the enforcement of various safety measures even as government restrictions begin to ease.” He further added, “The launch of our latest Isuzu D-Max model during the pandemic required a paradigm shift in the way we presented our new models to prospective customers. As restrictions become more lenient, we need to vigilantly evolve yet remain relevant to the situation.”

What are the safety measures already put into place by Isuzu Malaysia?
