Mercedes-Benz launches Night Edition of CLA and GLA 200

KUALA LUMPUR: Mercedes-Benz Malaysia (MBM) realised that it’s the right time to replace the CLA 200 AMG Line and GLA 200 Urban Line variants from the lineup. The Night Edition versions of the C117 CLA 200 and X156 GLA 200 are introduced to take the place of the respective models in the market.

The CLA 200 Night edition is available in five colour options - White, Cosmos Black, Polar Silver, Cavansite Blue, and Mountain Grey. For the GLA 200 Night Edition, all of these colors, except the Polar Silvertone, are offered.

Both the vehicles do not get any mechanical changes over the outgoing model. The cars feature the same M270 DE 16 1.6-litre turbocharged engine which is capable of churning out a maximum power of 154 PS at 5,300 rpm along with a peak torque of 250 Nm from 1,250 to 4,000 rpm. The 7G-DCT (seven-speed dual-clutch transmission) gearbox sends the power down to the wheels.

The Night Edition versions of the C117 CLA 200 and X156 GLA 200 get feature-packed interior. The surrounding of AC vents has white nozzle rings. The brushed aluminium trim on the dashboard is replaced with carbon-fibre inserts. Moreover, the Artico faux leather seats and floor mats are provided inside the car. The seatbelts come with white stripe accent.

The new CLA 200 does not differ much from the previous model. The AMG line exterior is offered in this Night Edition Package. On the front fenders, edition badge is embossed. Moreover, apart from the side sill panel, both the front as well as the rear aprons are painted in matte titanium grey.

The GLA 200 Night Edition comes with a new 19-inch AMG multi-spoke black wheels which replace the five-spoke matte black/high sheen finish. However, the CLA 200 has the same 18-inch AMG multi-spoke light-alloy wheels.

As for the new SST-based price list of Mercedes Benz Malaysia, the GLA 200 Night Edition carries a price tag of RM 244,888, while the CLA 200 counterpart is priced a bit lower at RM 242,888. All these prices are OTR (on the road) excluding insurance.
