KUALA LUMPUR: Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has introduced a darker, more visually assertive version of its compact SUV with the arrival of the Mercedes-Benz GLA Nightfall Edition.

What is the Mercedes-Benz GLA Nightfall Edition?
The GLA Nightfall Edition is a special edition of the Mercedes-Benz GLA compact SUV featuring darker styling elements, AMG Line exterior design and additional equipment. How much is the Mercedes-Benz GLA Nightfall Edition in Malaysia?
The GLA 200 Nightfall Edition is priced at RM258,888, while the GLA 250 4MATIC Nightfall Edition costs RM295,888, on the road without insurance for Peninsular Malaysia. What makes the Nightfall Edition different from the regular GLA?
It adds the Night Package with gloss black styling elements, AMG Line exterior and interior design, larger wheels and additional equipment compared with the regular GLA.Offered as a locally assembled special edition, the Nightfall treatment is essentially a styling and equipment upgrade that gives the familiar GLA a more aggressive presence without changing its core formula.
The Nightfall Edition leans heavily into the brand’s Night Package aesthetic, adding gloss black accents and AMG Line styling to create a more purposeful look. It is the kind of specification many buyers would typically add through options anyway, now bundled together as a single edition.
In Malaysia, the Nightfall Edition arrives in two variants, the GLA 200 Nightfall Edition and the GLA 250 4MATIC Nightfall Edition, priced at RM258,888 and RM295,888 respectively, on the road without insurance for Peninsular Malaysia.
What separates the Nightfall Edition from the regular GLA is primarily its styling treatment and equipment level. The SUV retains the same basic proportions and stance, but the Night Package introduces high-gloss black detailing that runs across the exterior, including elements around the grille and trim pieces that would otherwise appear brighter on the standard car.
Combined with the AMG Line exterior package, the GLA adopts a more athletic visual tone that suits the model’s compact proportions quite well.
Both variants also benefit from a sports brake system and a lowered comfort suspension setup, which contributes to a slightly more planted appearance and stance compared with the regular specification.
Wheel design is another visual differentiator. The GLA 200 Nightfall Edition rides on 19-inch AMG five-twin-spoke alloy wheels, while the more powerful GLA 250 4MATIC Nightfall Edition moves up to larger 20-inch AMG multi-spoke wheels that fill the arches more convincingly.
The higher-spec GLA 250 4MATIC Nightfall Edition also receives MULTIBEAM LED headlights, which introduce adaptive lighting technology that automatically adjusts beam patterns depending on road conditions and traffic.
The system includes intelligent light distribution, active light functions and an ultra-range high beam with high beam assist, designed to improve night-time visibility without dazzling other road users.
Inside, the Nightfall Edition continues the darker theme. The cabin combines the usual GLA practicality with sportier touches through an AMG Line interior specification. A black fabric roof liner frames the cabin, while the seats are finished in ARTICO man-made leather and MICROCUT microfibre upholstery in black with grey contrast stitching.
Grey seat belts and light longitudinal-grain aluminium trim further reinforce the sportier tone, while the steering wheel is a multifunction sports unit wrapped in nappa leather.
Mercedes-Benz has also included several convenience features that make daily use easier. The Nightfall Edition comes with THERMOTRONIC automatic climate control, which allows occupants to set and maintain a specific cabin temperature automatically.
Parking assistance is also enhanced through the Parking Package with a 360-degree camera, which provides an all-round view of the vehicle’s surroundings. Together with Active Parking Assist, the system can help identify suitable parking spaces and guide the car in and out of tight spots with minimal driver input.
Under the bonnet, the two variants maintain the familiar GLA mechanical setup. The GLA 200 Nightfall Edition is powered by a 1.3-litre turbocharged engine producing 163 hp and 270 Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 210 km/h.
Stepping up to the GLA 250 4MATIC Nightfall Edition brings a larger 2.0-litre engine producing 224 hp and 350 Nm of torque, along with an integrated electric motor that contributes an additional 10 kW and 150 Nm. The result is noticeably stronger performance, with the 0 to 100 km/h sprint taking 6.8 seconds and a top speed of 240 km/h.
“The new Mercedes-Benz GLA Nightfall Edition marks an exciting lifecycle milestone, delivering a seamless blend of sporty design and everyday versatility. With its darker styling and enhanced equipment, it offers our customers in Malaysia a compact SUV that is as confident as it is refined. We are proud to offer a GLA that combines innovation, quality, and an exceptional driving experience, while celebrating the model’s enduring appeal in the compact SUV segment.”
Martin Schulz, CEO & President, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia
“With the launch of the new Mercedes-Benz GLA Nightfall Edition, customers are presented with a distinctive interpretation of the GLA. The Night Package, AMG Line styling, and upgraded interior elements create a darker, sportier aesthetic, while advanced features such as MULTIBEAM LED headlights, THERMOTRONIC climate control, and the Parking Package with 360° camera enhance daily comfort and convenience. This edition is designed with our customers in mind, offering both a standout look and a highly equipped driving experience, making the GLA hard to resist and from a styling and value perspective.”
Nadia Trimmel, Vice President of Marketing & Sales, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia
Mercedes-Benz is also pairing the Nightfall Edition launch with its Step Up Agility+ financing plan, which allows customers to enter ownership with lower monthly instalments and flexible end-of-agreement options.
The plan includes a guaranteed future value for the vehicle and the MobilityPlus programme, which provides a temporary replacement Mercedes-Benz should the owner’s car require service or warranty repairs lasting more than 48 hours.
Ultimately, the GLA Nightfall Edition does not fundamentally change the compact SUV’s formula. Instead, it packages a darker aesthetic, AMG-influenced styling and several desirable convenience features into a more distinctive specification.
For buyers who were already drawn to the GLA but wanted something with a bit more visual attitude, this edition essentially delivers that straight from the showroom.
