MG owners’ gathering event held in Langkawi, the biggest-ever in Northern Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: An exciting MG owners’ gathering was held recently in Langkawi, bringing together several MG owners and highlighting the growing passion for the brand among Malaysian motorists. Organised by MG Alor Setar and supported by SAIC Motor Malaysia, the event was touted as the largest MG owners’ gathering ever held in Northern Malaysia.

MG owners’ gathering event: Key highlights 

• The gathering comprises a total of 66 vehicles, including 55 MG5, nine MG HS SUVs, one MG4 electric hatchback and MG Cyberster roadster, with approximately 200 participants, including family members and friends, joining the event.
• With a shared enthusiasm for the MG brand, owners showcased their vehicles, exchanged ownership experiences and strengthened their friendships. 
• The event also gave participants the opportunity to test drive the all-new MGS5 CKD electric SUV, allowing them to check out its driving dynamics, performance, and features first-hand.

"This is by far the largest MG gathering organised in the northern region, and it is encouraging to witness such strong camaraderie among members. We hope to see more regional gatherings take place and look forward to the day when MG owners from across the country come together for a truly nationwide MG convention," he added.

The growing participation in such gatherings reflects SAIC Motor Malaysia’s continued commitment to nurturing meaningful engagement with customers and enthusiasts. 

Last month, the company hosted the MG Car Club Gathering during KLIMS 2026, which brought together 39 privately owned vehicles, comprising 34 modern MG electric vehicles and five classic MG models. Kelab MG Malaysia and MG EV Club Malaysia participate in this event.
