Mission Impossible Rogue Nation: "Hunt" for BMW

Kuala Lumpur: Luxury cars have always marked their presence in many movies. Be it an action flick, a Rom-com or a thriller, a luxury car would never go unnoticed. Featuring of cars in popular movies is not a new thing. It has been done before with Audi RSQ for 'iRobot', BMW i8 for 'Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol', Lexus 2054 for 'Minority Report', Aston Martin V12 Vanquish for 'Die Another Day' and the list never ends.

Malaysia got its dose of Hollywood on 30th July 2015 with the release of Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation starring the megastar Tom Cruise. This movie is being considered as one of the best spy movies of 2015. Continuing its legacy with BMW, the fifth installment also has BMW as its exclusive worldwide automotive partners. No spy movie would be complete without a car chase scene and eventually the car being destroyed, for this flick it happens to be a BMW.

BMW is all set to grab the spotlights with its product lineup being featured in Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation. Lets have a look at all the mean machines being used in this flick.

-BMW M3

Ethan Hunt, world's favourite undercover agent being played by Tom Cruise in the film will be seen zooming around the town in an all-new BMW M3. The M3 featured in Rogue Nation is painted in a beautiful silverstone metallic colour which adds up to the aesthetics of the car. This sedan holds a 1.3 litre engine which is able to generate a maximum power of 431 hp along with a commanding torque of 550 Nm. Having a rear wheel drive, this car is integrated with a 7 speed dual-clutch automatic transmission along with a rack and pinion steering system. Thanks to its direct injection fuel system, it churns out a city fuel economy of 9 kmpl and a highway fuel economy of 14.9 kmpl. To become a proud owner, you would have to shell out RM694,692 from your pockets.

-BMW X5

Becoming a star in the trailer of Rogue Nation, X5 can be seen in full action as in one point of teaser, Jeremy Renner's character steps out of the car giving it the much deserved coverage. For the movie, this car is adorned in a beautiful metallic silver colour. Powered by a 3.0 litre engine, it is capable of generating a maximum power of 305 hp along with a commanding torque of 400 Nm. Its 8 speed automatic transmission provides power to all the four wheels. Blessed with a direct injection fuel system, it delivers a city mileage of 8.8 kmpl and a highway mileage of 14.5 kmpl. To get your hands on this SUV, you would have to spend a fortune of RM507,378.

-BMW 340i

Apart from the above two cars, a Mediterranean Blue BMW 340i can also be seen in the flick. This car makes a jaw dropping entry and doesn't fail to steal the show. Though the car hasn't been officially launched until now, but you can expect a worldwide launching in September 2015. The 340i would be replacing its predecessor i.e. 335i with a turbocharged 3.0 litre, in line six cylinder engine. This power mill would pump out a power of 322 hp and 450 Nm of torque. BMW also claims the fuel consumption to be 6.8 litre per 100km which is pretty good for a luxury saloon. You will also be enticed by a 0-100 kmph time span of 5.1 seconds along with a whacking top speed of 250 kmph.

Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation is bound to make global audiences awestruck and a part of this will go to these beasts from the German giants which have never dismayed their legacy, on-screen and on-road.
