Mitsubishi Malaysia donates Triton pickup truck

KUALA LUMPUR: Mitsubishi Malaysia is expanding its customer reach by not only offering reliable and powerful four-wheel creations but also by donating them at the same time. Recently Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) donated a Triton pickup to Dignity Farm School.

Based in Bentong, Pahang, the Dignity Farm School is a community learning centre for the underprivileged urban residents in the area. The donated pickup will come in handy in the farm's daily operations and will also be used to bring Orang Asli to the school.

The 4X4 pickup was handed down to the farm by MMM CEO, Tomoyuki Shinnishi. He hopes the pickup will help the school in its efforts to impart transformative youth education programmes including skills development and agriculture.

He said, “In line with the Malaysian government’s efforts to reopen schools soon with tightened and updated standard operating procedures (SOPs), we wanted to relook into how we can help the underprivileged and indigenous community in terms of education and health.” Shiinnishi further added, "We are happy to work with the Dignity Farm School, a place where skills and knowledge are connected and taught from a wellspring of sources and experiences, combining practical skills and theory in a farm setting. This in return will also prepare the underprivileged children in the future to enter an agricultural and tourism workforce requiring both innovation and manpower.”

MMM's recent community work included loaning the Triton and Outlander to NGO Mercy Malaysia for transportation of frontline workers to the vaccination centre. The automaker also put a Triton at work with NGO INSAF Malaysia to distribute food to orphanages and aged community members. Besides, several laptops and charity worth RM 35,000 was donated by the automaker to several charitable organisations.
