Mitsubishi Malaysia launches the all-new Triton - Phantom Plus Edition

KUALA LUMPUR: The official distributor of Mitsubishi cars in Malaysia, Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) has taken us by surprise by launching the super attractive and cool Triton - Phantom Plus Edition.

The latest, special edition Triton model is limited to just 1000 units and is designed to accelerate customers’ urban lifestyle. Priced at RM 139,700 (on-the-road without insurance), it is best for the ones with a passion for visiting remote outdoors.

Powering the Triton Phantom Plus Edition is a 2.4-litre MIVEC turbo diesel engine generating maximum power of 181 PS along with a peak torque of 430 Nm. The drive is sent to all-four wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission. Improving the pickup’s driving dynamics is an Easy Select 4WD system with an off-road mode and a hill descent control function.

As can be seen from the images, the Triton - Phantom Plus Edition is offered with accessories and a body kit that gives it an aggressive look and feel. At the front, the pickup features a decorative roof with LED lighting and a front bumper garnish with red accents. The side profile showcases rugged wheel arches with 18-inch gloss black alloy wheels with Yokohama Geolander all-terrain tyres, side door moulding, and a sports bar with matte finishing.

The rear face of the car is no less as it gets bumper garnish with a hint of red, Phantom tailgate molding with rear spoiler. Not to forget the sporty ‘PHANTOM PLUS’ body decals that only add to the pickup’s ruggedness.

The cabin here comes equipped with a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support and a digital video recorder (DVR).

The limited-edition Triton comes with a strong safety suite with features like anti-lock braking system, electronic brake distribution, brake assist, traction control, active stability control, trailer stability assist, rest reminder, and hill start assist.

The limited-edition Triton Phantom Plus is offered in a single but impact-making Jet Black Mica tone with a few red accents here and there. Each purchase will cover a 5-year, 200,000 km warranty.
