Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia officially launches 2019 Triton

KUALA LUMPUR: Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) brings the 2019 Triton. The car is on display until this Sunday at the 1 Utama shopping centre. It is available in five variants and the price ranges between RM 100,200 to RM 135,200, excluding insurance.

It was the 2018 KLIMS (Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show), where the vehicle was previewed last year. It was later launched in Thailand.

The 2019 Triton gets the Dynamic Shield face as it has a large fog lamp-signal lamp cluster where the slim headlamps are placed. The grille in the middle of the front fascia starts from the headlamps and gets chrome border. Starting with the rear profile, there is the new lamp cluster, while top-spec variants get long-tail LED signatures.

The pickup-truck gets some minor changes inside, especially on the centre stack and console. It gets an air circulator, with two rear vents on the roof. It has soft touch padding on the tunnel and centre console box to give you more comfort.

The all-new Mitsubishi Triton is equipped with a 2.4-litre MIVEC turbocharged diesel engine that is capable of making a maximum of 181 PS power and 430 Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox, while the mill in the lower variants is mated to a six-speed manual transmission.

The pickup truck comes with a host of safety features which includes Blind Spot Warning with Lane Change Assist (BSW with LCA), Forward Collision Mitigation (FCM), Ultrasonic Misacceleration Mitigation System (UMS), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Auto High Beam (AHB), and seven airbags. All the features are now available on the Triton Adventure X trim.

The Mitsubishi Malaysia claims that around 800 units of the 2019 Triton have been booked since the 2018 KLIMS. The deliveries of the vehicle will start from 5th February and the company has a sales target of 600 units in a month.
